Megan

Unlike my troupe sisters, my dance experience is practically nil, clubs or formal training.  I always thought the whole club scene was fascinating, but I was never brave enough to go, or brave enough to actually dance in front of people.  I was always a wallflower who watched what other people were doing and wished that I could do what they were doing.  I still am to a certain extent.  I started belly dancing on a whim, and fell in love with it.  I find it’s a freeing experience.  Seeing all the women who belly dance, all the shapes and sizes, all the different intensities, from dark and mysterious to light and flirty, all while doing the same dance movements just has truly caught my fancy.  I dance as a way to feel comfortable within my own skin, I dance for fun, and I dance to combat the evil little demon within that keeps telling me I’m not good enough.
